3 Simple vodka cocktails

Few years ago I gave my boyfriend a cocktail set as a Christmas gift. He was into preparing cocktails and it seemed a good idea. Now, I am the one preparing cocktails and he is just assisting me. I am not a master and I still drop things when I prepare them but I am on my way to get better. I promise.

I practice every time with friends coming over or on some solo weekends after a hard week (it’s not that depressing as it sounds). I like it a lot and sometimes I try new flavors too.

This time I will share with you some basic vodka cocktails recipes that everyone can do. You don’t need to be a professional mixer, to joggle with the tools or even use a cocktail shaker.

Everyone enjoys good cocktails at a good party, no? So why not learn some new easy recipes for you your friends?

Blue Lagoon

For this cocktail you need only 3 ingredients: vodka, blue curacao and lemonade. Simple as that!

The first things that you need to add in glass are the ice cubes. The sound of cracking ice when you pour the vodka over it’s just great!

How do do it:

  • Pour  30 ml (1 ounce) of vodka over the ice cubes
  • Add 30 ml (1 ounce) of blue curacao
  • Splash it with lemonade or fill the glass (depends how strong you want it)

Here are two possibilities: you can use still water or soda water. It’s absolutely your choice. Don’t let the internet tell you how to do it. Enjoy!

Vodka Collins

In this case you will need vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup and soda water. It’s a very refreshing cocktail and it’s ideal for the warm summer days.

How to do it:

  • Pour  45 ml (1 ½ ounce) of vodka over the ice cubes
  • Add 30 ml (1 ounce) of lemon juice
  • Sweeten it with 15 ml (½ ounce) simple syrup
  • Splash it with soda water or fill the glass (depends how strong you want it)

Black Currant Cosmopolitan

From these 3 recipes, this one is my favorite. On this one I just played a little with the flavors and ingredients. I am not even surprised it’s my favorite since I added my own quantities for it.  I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

You will need: vodka, triple sec, simple syrup, black currant juice and lemon juice.

How do do it:

  • Pour 30 ml (1 ounce) of vodka over the ice cubes
  • Add 15 ml (½ ounce) of triple sec
  • Add 30 ml (1 ounce) of black currant juice
  • Add 30 ml (1 ounce) of lemon juice
  • Sweeten it with 15 ml (½ ounce) simple syrup
  • Splash it with soda water or fill the glass (depends how strong you want it)

Good luck in trying these cocktails and have fun preparing them! Cheers!
